Will Steacy, Deadline, 2009-2013

For four years, Will Steacy tracked the Philadelphia Inquirer. His goal was to record the stages in the history of the newspaper in order to create a portrait in a broader context of the development of the American newspaper industry. Will Steacy is interested in the extent to which shifts in technology and the distribution of information over the Internet have affected not just the newspaper business (as Deadline illustrates) but also American society as a whole. In the loss of newspapers, he sees as well the loss of reporting, of society and of the self.

Will Steacy
(1980, New Haven, Connecticut, USA) lebt und arbeitet in New York, USA.
Erlangte 2003 den Bachelor of Fine Arts von der Tisch School of the Arts in New York. Er wurde als einer der 25 unter 25-jährigen „Up-And-Coming American Photographers“ von The Center for Documentary Studies ausgezeichnet, und wurde für den Prix Pictet 2014 nominiert.
